MISSION STATEMENT: 

Barrington Area Soccer Association was formed in order to promote the sport of soccer in the Barrington area; to promote and encourage the sport, pleasure, exercise and recreation of its members; to promote sociability and friendship among its members; and to manage and conduct entertainment excursions and social meetings of its members. The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. 

In order to fulfill our mission, we have worked hard to assemble the most highly educated and experienced coaching staff for our travel program in the state of Illinois. We are extremely proud of this accomplishment as it is of primary importance in providing our players the opportunity to improve their skills and reach their goals. At the same time, we also maintain our focus that sport should be fun and help promote sportsmanship, leadership, and understanding. By providing continuing education programs for our coaches, we actively attempt to insure that these goals remain a priority for our entire staff. We have been pursuing this goal since our inception in 1992. We currently have over 1300 families participating in our program and have become an integral part of the Barrington community.

FCX is the travel arm of the Barrington Area Soccer Association (BASA).   FCX provides comprehensive, professional training for players who are committed to improving their level of play while enjoying themselves.  We pride ourselves on only utilizing coaches who have extensive experience and qualifications and are always looking to improve their knowledge of the game. 

It is hoped these high standards will spread amongst our players as well and will enable them to develop a desire for higher achievement not only in soccer but also in education, citizenship, and physical and mental fitness. It is our goal at FCX to develop the best players and teams possible and provide the most driven players in soccer the opportunity to excel to the highest levels of which they are capable.

BASA/FCX offers multiple programs to allow each player an opportunity to achieve their individual soccer goals  

BASA/FCX Offered Programs:

	BASA Recreational: Kindergarten-HS  The primary objective of the Recreational program is to enable players to learn the game of soccer in a fun and stimulating environment. The focus is on developing their skills to help them be the best soccer players they can be, while maintaining a healthy approach to recreational soccer. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________
	BASA Tot Soccer: Pre-K Tot Soccer is our preschool program available for all players age 3-5 years old. Tots is an introduction to basic soccer skills and an overview of all athletic movements. Tot soccer is coached by adult professional staff coaches and is one of the best pre-k programs in the area. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ FCX U7/U8 Bridge Program:  The FCX Bridge program is a combination of BASA recreational soccer and FCX Travel soccer. Players train with the FCX professional staff August-June and also compete for their BASA recreational team Fall only!  __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ FCX Travel (U9-14): The FCX program takes players through all phases of competitive soccer development.  All FCX travel teams are created by birth year. Beginning at U9, players are exposed to the skills necessary to achieve success in all phases of the game. The program is guided by a curriculum set by the Directors of Coaching that has proven to develop talented players capable of performing at the High School and College level. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________
	FCX Travel (High School): The FCX program participates in tournaments and leagues both within the Midwest and Nationally.  Players are recruited by Division I, II and III and NAIA colleges.  The program is the highest competitive level within BASA and has developed success in the past 5 years due in large part to the quality of the Recreational and FCX programs philosophy, coaching and curriculum. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
